Historic 1932 Title Game: Chicago Wins First Indoor NFL Championship 9–0
December 18
1932 — The Chicago Bears beat the Portsmouth Spartans 9-0 in a playoff game for the NFL championship after both teams finished the season with six victories. The game was scheduled for Wrigley Field, but was moved indoors to Chicago Stadium because of snow and extreme cold. Special ground rules were set up to keep the ball in the middle of the improvised 80-yard long dirt-covered field that was flanked by walls on both sides. Red Grange caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Bronko Nagurski for the game’s only touchdown.
