Aug. 27, 2007: The NCAA Executive Committee approves a new seating configuration that will increase capacity to about 70,000 at the Men’s Final Four beginning in 2009, creating sections that will put thousands of students courtside for the national championship. Aug. 5, 2005: The NCAA Executive Committee announces a new Native American mascot policy to prohibit NCAA colleges and universities from displaying hostile and abusive racial/ethnic/national origin mascots, nicknames or imagery at any NCAA championships.
