Historic Thanksgiving Debut: Bears Edge Lions in NFL’s First Nationwide Radio Game

1934 — The Detroit Lions play the first of their traditional Thanksgiving Day home games, losing to the Chicago Bears 19-16 before a crowd of 26,000 as CBS Radio does its first-ever national broadcast of an NFL game.
