On November 12November 12, 2018 Shohei Ohtani, the first two-way player in the major leagues since Babe Ruth, wins the 2018 American League Rookie of the Year Award, beating out teammates Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres of the Yankees. In the National League, OF Ronald Acuna wins the award, finishing in front of fellow young outfield phenom Juan Soto and P Walker Buehler.
